Intermediate Band

The Intermediate Band is the non-varsity ensemble comprised of 7th and 8th grade students. Membership is determined by audition, history of academic eligibility, and level of responsibility in the previous year. The Intermediate Band takes individual instrumental skills learned in Beginning Band to the next level by adding ensemble concepts. The band performs at numerous concerts throughout the year and participates in the annual UIL Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation. Members of the Intermediate Band are encouraged to participate in the TMEA All-Region tryouts and solo contest. Additionally, members of the band are expected to attend all outside of school rehearsals and are strongly encouraged to take private lessons.
